![]() The decision complicated some of Microsoft’s pre-release marketing for Halo: Infinite and arguably left the Xbox Series X without a major flagship launch title when it hit online retailers last winter, but one major figure from Halo’s past convinced the mega-company that it was the right move. The Halo Wars 2 demo features the opening mission from the thrilling campaign and an exciting new game mode, Blitz Firefight. This, combined with production complications brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, ultimately led 343 to delay Halo Infinite for nearly a full year to allow for additional polish. They felt Halo Infinite’s graphics were a step back from the high standards of previous installments, and the dull facial expressions of enemy characters like the affectionally named Craig The Brute soon became the subject of internet memes and online mockery. Microsoft had originally planned for Halo Infinite to launch alongside the Xbox Series X last November, but when the game was first shown off during a livestream event earlier that summer, longtime fans were less than impressed. However, things would hit a speedbump during the development of 343’s latest mainline Halo title. ![]()
